How do I join the Greek community at UCLA?

Each governing council at UCLA has a different process to join their organizations:

True Bruin Welcome is an annual tradition at UCLA and fosters Bruin spirit for both new and returning students. Take part in the fun and supportive activities, services and programs to find your place, make friends and become a True Bruin.

Asian Greek Council
Each fall quarter during zero week, the Asian Greek Council coordinates a "Rush Week" where men and women interested in joining a chapter have an opportunity to preview each organization. Chapters offer bids, or invitations to join at the end of "Rush Week" on Sunday, October 5.

For more information about joining an Asian Greek Council fraternity or sorority, visit the AGC Recruitment Page.

Interfraternity Council
Each fall quarter during zero week, the Interfraternity Council coordinates a "Rush Week" where men interested in joining a chapter have an opportunity to preview each organization. Chapters offer bids, or invitations to join at the end of "Rush Week" on Sunday, October 5. There is also a smaller scale recruitment period in the spring. However, not all chapters participate.

For more information about joining an IFC fraternity, visit the IFC Recruitment Page.

Latino Greek Council
Most fraternities and sororities in the Latino Greek Council choose the time when they wish to accept new members through developing "interest" in the fall quarter. Individual chapters have their own processes for membership intake.

For more information about membership recruitment in the Latino Greek Council, visit the LGC Recruitment Page.

Multi-Interest Greek Council
Fraternities and sororities in the Multi-Interest Greek Council take new members throughout the first few weeks of the fall quarter. Individual chapters have their own processes for membership recruitment.

For more information about membership intake in the Multi-Interest Greek Council, visit the MIGC Recruitment Page.

National Pan-Hellenic Council
The fraternities and sororities that make up the "Divine Nine" of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) conduct membership intake at a time of a chapter's choosing. The intake process differs from organization to organization.

For more information about membership intake in the National Pan-Hellenic Council, visit the NPHC Intake Page.

Panhellenic Council
The Panhellenic Council has a formal recruitment process beginning zero week on Wednesday, September 25 and runs through bid day on Sunday, October 5. Potential New Members or PNMs visit each chapter on a specific schedule. In addition, some Panhellenic chapters are eligible to accept new members after formal recruitment.
