House Directors serve as live in mentors to the chapter members. They are hired and employed by the house corporation boards. Generally, their specific responsibilities include planning menus, ordering food and chapter supplies, and supervising the kitchen staff, just to name a few.

The role of a house director does not end there though. Whether it is working with a chapter committee, counseling an individual member, assisting with chapter activities, or mediating a conflict, they may serve an integral part of the chapter living environment depending upon their role.
